RICE PUDDING
Rice pudding is a classic dessert that reminds us of childhood and home cooking. Its creamy texture and mild taste make it a favorite choice for people of all ages. It is easy to prepare and provides enjoyment in every bite.
Ingredients
- 2 dl of rice (we recommend long grain)
- A pinch of salt
- 1l of milk
- 1 bag of vanilla sugar
- 8 tablespoons of sugar
- Raisins (optional)
- Cinnamon
Preparation
- Wash the rice under running water, put it in a pot and pour water, just enough to cover the rice. Put it to boil, then add a pinch of salt.
- When it boils, reduce the temperature and gradually add another 1 dl of water, but little by little, never all at once. Stir constantly with a mixing spoon so that it does not stick to the bottom of the pot.
- When all the water boils away, add the milk gradually, not all at once. Stir constantly. Rice pudding is cooked quickly, in about fifteen minutes at most, but constant stirring is necessary to prevent it from burning.
- If you like raisins, cook them in milk, it will taste wonderful.
- When the rice is cooked and the milk has thickened, add sugar and vanilla, stir for another minute or two.
- Before pouring the rice pudding into the bowls, leave it in a covered pot for ten minutes to rest.
Serving
Pour the rice pudding into glasses and sprinkle it with cinnamon. For extra enjoyment, you can top it with a few spoonfuls of cherry or raspberry syrup. This addition gives a wonderful red-white and sweet-sour combination.
